This morning, I got an email from Norway weekly which interests me. David Nickel wrote about last night's national contest for Norway and Sweden's pick for Eurovision 2015.
He summarizes that Norway is sending the balladers, Kjetil Mørland & Debrah Scarlett to represent at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with their song A Monster Like Me.
He also explains that the ballad entry was was selected by a national TV audience at last night’s Melodi Grand Prix final in Oslo.
Get a glipmpse, here is Norway's best bet:
A bit about the finalists. Before moving back to Oslo on his solo career, Mørland was the front man of his band Absent Elk. Debrah Scarlett is a Norwegian- Swiss singer who performed at The Voice , talent competition on TV2.
D.Nickel goes on to say about other contentestants that 11 songs competed in the finals but the competition heated up when it was down to a final four. Unlike last year in 2014, when Carl Espen was a clear winner by huge number of vote difference, this year Mørland & Debrah Scarlett finished up just 3,496 votes ahead of Erlend Bratland. According to D.Nickel, The runner-up's entry Thunderstruck seems to be a stronger or maybe more suitable entry to Eurovision?
Here is the runner-up performance:
D.Nickel says that its a surprise that Norway’s Eurovision fans chose another ballad after last year’s failure of Carl Espen’s Silent Storm. But perhaps they were inspired by Austria’s Bond-esque winner Rise Like a Phoenix?
But anyway, what is done is done. Norway have its finalists. They will hopefully make it to the top ten and perhaps have a shot at the finals in May 2015.
Now, moving to Sweden's pick. I personally like it a lot actually. It is both catchy and superb performance. The public's favourite Måns Zelmerlöw was the clear winner with his song Heroes. Plus, the artists certainly has a distinct charisma that puts him ahead of Norway's finalists. D.Nickel says Sweden will compete in the same semi-final as Norway and their impressive performance could steal the show. I agree with him.
See for yourself,
